This could be the hardest working man in Jazz. He’s everywhere. Kris Tiner started out as a trumpet prodigy in Wasco California. He studied under both Dr. Doug Davis and Wadada Leo Smith. Kris never stops moving, never stops innovating. He is a master of improvisation. He recorded an album with percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani on the top floor of the last remaining Woolworth's in America. He’s collaborated with guitarist Mike Bagetta for duo Tin/Bag and also pianist Kathleen Pineda. He’s recorded with Psychic Temple, Empty Cage Quartet, Industrial Jazz Group, and so much more. He runs the Jazz Program at Bakersfield College all while still recording his own albums and finding time to tour between semesters.
